Mentoring! – {rockwall photographer}

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to do something that has long been simmering in my mind – mentoring!  That is, where I am the mentor rather than the mentee!  While I have been asked about mentoring in the past, something just didn’t feel right about the timing until now.  Nadeen and I met about a year ago through a mutual friend. She has such a wonderful eye for landscapes and still life, and now is beginning her own senior portrait business.  You can check out her blog here.  I felt like this would be a fabulous time to try out my skills as a mentor, and I’m so glad it worked out!

Since Nadeen lives in California, figuring out a date was a bit tricky.  It happened to work out that she would be able to make the visit the same day we had one of my senior model’s individual photo shoot scheduled.  I knew this would be perfect because Caroline is simply a beautiful girl, and is laid back and easygoing as well.  She had some amazing clothing picked out (love, love her outfits – makes such a big difference in the photos! – cannot overstate this!) and we had a perfect fall day for this naturey-based shoot.

A huge THANK YOU to Nadeen for trusting me to be a teacher!  I am so passionate about my work, and she gave me an awesome opportunity to share it with another photographer.

Here are a few results from our fun afternoon together:

After this mentoring experience, I know I am more than ready to begin teaching other photographers as well.  If you’re interested, please contact me through this blog or my website.  Mentoring is available to photographers beyond a 75 mile radius of Rockwall, Texas.
